Radiators - How to heat your home efficiently

Classic Radiators

I have been trying decide how best to heat my house and in this day and age everyone is being encouraged to be more conscious about the environment, so I wanted to look at how to heat my house with classic designed heaters. Cast Iron Radiators have been around for more than a century and are about as classic in design as it gets. They were first invented by Americans Robert Brigss and Joseph Nason when they put together an ensemble of wrought iron tubes and a cast iron base. A classic look will fit well into an old fashioned room with the bulky heaters by no means disappearing into the background. Radiators are there to do one thing; heat a room. I like the classic look but I want more of a design that blends into the room without being noticed so much as the style of the room I am decorating doesn’t suit a bulky design. As far as I am concerned I don’t need them to stand out any more than necessary and someone suggested to me to try out Column Radiators. The designs vary with some having multiple columns and others as little as one but the look wasn’t quite as classic as I was hoping for. Looking on the Internet for new ideas on what types of heaters were around was a great way to gage the market and get to grips with some of the designs. Multicolumn radiators were my favourite and I think I may well choose one of these.

Warm up cheaply

The styles and designs of Radiators are immense and there are so many to look through it is hard to know quite where to start. I am always looking to save money so the cheaper options are favourable to me. As well as heaters in the living room and dining room I am also looking to warm up the bathroom and there is nothing cozier than taking a towel off the rail and having it heated through. Heated towel rails are perfect for this job but even with these there are a few options to choose from. The cheapest options are often found on the Internet and I find it the easiest way to shop when I have little time and when I am looking for two different types of heater it will be the best way to cut out unnecessary queues. Stainless steel towel rails have been around for a while now and the strong conducting metal is a good way of conducting heat with cost efficiency in mind. They look sleek in the bathroom so it may well be what I go for and even if they are not heated, the stainless steel will look good and I think it will add to the decor rather than spoil it. Towel rails are perfect for the bathroom and are a great way of keeping the place tidy. With all these choices it may be a good idea for me to consult a specialist on the subject of Radiators!

Accessorise your heater

I often end up using my Radiators as somewhere to drape wet clothes to dry or to hang the cat bed from so I need a heater that I can use for these things. The cat has a sheep skin bed that attaches over the top of the heater and makes her bed nice and cozy when she gets in it. The Flat Panel Radiators look great for this so I may choose to get one of those as they sit nicely to the wall and remain out of the way. From what I have seen they are the most basic design available but I am undecided whether I want a free standing or wall mounted heater. As well as the cat bed needing to fit on the top of it I also want to be able to put a few wet clothes on there to dry so I had a look at the planal radiators that were on offer. There are lots of designs around and it is hard to know which is best. The heater will sit away from the window to avoid wasting energy apart from hanging a few bits on it I only want it to heat the house up so I had a look at the carat radiators. They look like a viable option and they will be easy enough to hang any socks and clothes from so next step for me is to actually decide on what Radiators I want and get ordering.

Different heat convectors

I have done some more in-depth research on the types of heaters available as I was still unsure on which style to go for. Radiators are basically a heating source that was first invented to transmit heat through radiation, hence their name. Nowadays electricity is the most common way to heat them through but is it the most environmentally friendly way? A liquid medium, most commonly water, can also heat it as can a flammable source. Deco-therm radiators will be worth checking out and the heaters work by working like the sun does; transporting energy through radiation. From what I have learnt in my research, there are four basic groups that heaters can be broken into but there are many different combinations of these groups that start to make it more complicated. Matrix-versatile radiators seem to be a popular choice but before I decide which type I want I have to understand more fully about the groups. There is the direct source radiation, the convector design, flat panel designs, and the reflector designs. All of these options have to be taken into account before I chose what is best for my house and the environment. Ancona radiators have been recommended to me and now I understand more about how they work I should be able to work out which type will be best for me. When I first started shopping around, I didn’t know how hard it would be to find Radiators to work in line with my style and be eco friendly at the same time.
