Confederation Africaine de Football

This Confederation is more commonly referred by its acronym, CAF and is the administrative body responsible for African football. Although this confederation still has a lot of rooms for improvement, it has helped the African football in many ways. As what wikipedia.org has to say, “CAF represents the national football associations of Africa, runs continental national and club competitions, and controls the prize money, regulations and media rights to those competitions.”

Asian Football Confederation

The Asian Football Confederation or the AFC was founded in Manila, Philippines in 1954 and is the governing body of football in Asia but does not include Cyprus and Israel since they are members of UEFA (nations that have European and Asian territory). Currently, the AFC president is from Qatar, Mohammed Bin Hammam with their main headquarters located in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Most of the member nations of this confederation are geographically located in Asia but since they are near the European borders, they form another union instead of getting membership from the Asian Football Confederation or AFC. Its current president is Michel Platini and its headquarters are based in Bern, Switzerland. Among the six continental confederations of FIFA, the UEFA is the wealthiest and the most influential in the global game.
